Professional Training

The Professional Training Program of the Alcohol and Drug Council of Middle Tennessee provides professional, comprehensive, customized training for alcohol and drug prevention, intervention, and treatment professionals from 26 Middle Tennessee counties.

We are pleased to begin training courses in our new home at the Youth Opportunity Center. The building features a state of the art conference room with the capacity to hold more than 70 people and provide our participants with an enhanced learning experience.
We have also made several changes to the registration process. The ADC will now accept “day of” registrations (a late fee will be charged) and participants will be able to enjoy a boxed lunch which is included in their pre-registration.
Please note that our refund policy has changed as well. Participants who request a refund before the registration postmark date will receive a 100% refund. Participants who request a refund after the registration postmark date will receive a 50% refund. Participants who request a refund 24 hours before the class and “no shows” will not receive a refund.

The program is designed for those who directly treat alcohol and drug addiction and those who serve the broad needs of individuals or families who are affected by addiction.
Workshops are led by local and regional trainers with proven expertise in their respective fields.
Each year 20-25 workshops are offered in one or two-day courses. About 500 professionals attend the affordably priced workshops annually.

LADAC Approved Training

All workshops are accepted by Tennessee Health Related Boards to fulfill requirements for Licensure of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (LADAC) or for continuing education of such.

If you are interested in receiving information about upcoming workshops, please contact the Alcohol and Drug Council, P. O. Box 330189, Nashville TN 37203, 615-269-0029.

"I got out of graduate school knowing very little about alcohol and drugs. I came to the A&D Council for the additional education I needed."

"I felt isolated in my job at a rural center. I came to the Alcohol & Drug Council, found out what was going on in other alcohol and drug service areas and met professionals I could keep in contact with later."

"I took a job as a nurse in health services and soon saw that many of the problems presented were related to alcohol or drugs. I knew I needed updated training. I got the basics and more at the Alcohol & Drug Council."
